Non-US Bloggers’ English Sucks?
One of the latest feature offered by PPP is for Advertisers to geographically segment opps such as only open to USA. PPP has done segmentation by other criterias before so I am not upset about this. Afterall, it is the Advertisers who are paying the $$$ so they can choose whatever or whoever they want to post for them.
However, there is a thread on PPP that discuss about this issue and the general overview is that this geographical segmentation came about because many advertisers (and posties) feel that many bloggers in countries other than the USA have sub-standard English. *Ouch* Some even go as far as to point out blogs that have poor English and the target of course seems to be Malaysian blogs. I do admit that English is not our 1st language and many of us have less than perfect English but that does not mean every postie from US have perfect grammar and spelling either.
First of all, it should be PPP’s job to evaluate the blogs which were submitted for inclusion into PPP. If PPP deems the blogger does not have a good grasp of the English language, it should not be approved in the first place. Why approve them and condemn them later? The way I see it, when PPP was still in the “baby” stage, it was not so particular about the quality of blogs except for the standard requirements. Now that they have more posties than they can handle, every little details counts. There’s nothing wrong with that of course, as quality has to be maintained. But do it professionally. Perhaps with an announcement that they will be reviewing all blogs again or something along that line.
So, what’s your take on this? Does our English suck or is it do our English sucks? Excuse my English, I am afterall a Malaysian….one of those postie who have sub-standard English

really susah to cari makan now..
i agreed what you said, when they have less posties, they treated us like “honour guests”, now, we are just like extra for them.

English is just an excuse. Some angmo cannot compete because they are not so hardworking as us. But i can see it will back fire, when the angmo blog traffic sucks. Then PPP will have to balance whether they want traffic or perfect english.

I got accused of ‘holding’ offers today & my PPP account suspended too.
How PPP expect some folks like me not to accidentally ‘hold’ offers when 2 out of 3 completed & submitted offers gets rejected by the system?
I hope PPP at least pay me my money whatever the result.
I am waiting for a reply.
Perhaps PPP should clean the system first before cleaning up blogger accounts.

Huisia - We are small kacang only mar…ha ha
Michelle - I believe the ang moh just wanna find excuses to rid them of competitions.
AI Editor - Wait and see whether they can provide you proof. They couldn’t in my case. It was a general statement but yet, they suspend me because they could. So, I guess it’s good that I did not put my eggs in one basket. Good luck to you & keep me posted.

That is such an unfair comment. There are so many !@#$ Americans, as well. they definitely don’t have a monopoly of greatness, even in the English language. My Asian professor who came from Harvard says, “Some of them in the US are really terrible” Statements that provoke hatred against other races are simply threatened by competition from Offshore.

Hi BPO - Thanks for dropping by and for giving your input. I too would like to think it is unfair to categorize us that way but the world has never been fair
