Do You Love Blogging?

DO YOU? I have often read about the fact that one needs to enjoy blogging, rather than have the main intention to start a blog for the sole purpose of earning money. Previously, when I read such post, my first thought was “That’s totally crap!” If you have the same thought, I definitely will not blame you.

I started to blog for my kids and my family. My blog was my journal to chart my children’s milestones. That was more than 2 years ago and back then, I had no idea what Google Adsense was or what blog monetization was. Then, when I learnt a thing or two about blogging for money, the temptation of earning more and more lead me to start two other blogs. This was a mistake that had caused some stress to me.

However, as time goes by, I turn to niche blogging and began to enjoy blogging more and more. This very blog started because I wanted to share some basic knowledge of earning through blogging with those bloggers who have the same passion. My other blog, My Yakkity Yak has evolved and I finally found the niche that I enjoy, Celebrity News. I am now a self confessed blogging addict but I have truly benefited so much from this passion. I have people writing to me to do product reviews, website reviews and even book reviews. It is a personal satisfaction to be approached for reviews from total strangers.

Ok, I am beginning to digress…..the point I am trying to make is having a passion for blogging will be the greatest motivation for one to generate quality posts. Though I do not deny there are other factors to attract readers to your blog or to increase traffic, I truly believe that you have to love blogging to maintain a blog for the long term. Great content will attract readers and eventually you will reap many benefits from your blog.
