This time, I cannot help share my personal thoughts here as it involves this community. As most of you all know, the server went dead on us. My webhost did the best he could but because the backup copy was not the latest one, I lost all my plugins, pictures, pages, comments and even the forum.
We moved to another server to get the blog back to live but because I lost many of my precious posts, I felt like I had lost a big part of my life. The most important driver for me was BDMM’s testimonial page which some members had taken so much trouble to write for me. On top of that, I lost all the subscribers to this blog too. It is the worst nightmare in my entire blogging life.
I am not in the mood to put things back together here. I have lost the motivation. Seriously.

What was the URL of your testimonial page? There are several places online that might have your content saved and cached…all may not be lost. Search the waybackmachine and google cache for starters

What a disaster. I cannot imagine losing all of my posts! That would be tragic. As in everything wiped out! Arghhh!
But I hope there’s a chance to restore things… I agree with RealityTVFan, your contents could be restored from Google cache. It’s worth a try.

Oh Elina. Really disheartening what you are going through. Very unfortunate. But keep trudging along. Looks like you have a small army behind you. If you ever need another testimonial page, I’m sure there will be plenty of volunteers as you are doing a great job!
We all felt your pain….. because we would not want that to happen to any of our blog or any other blogs. It is sure depressing but you can count on all of us here to be there for you.

Thanks for all the wonderful support from everyone and also many thanks to Viki, who gave me some very good advice which made it possible for me to get the “Join BDMM Community” page up so fast!
I have also managed to put some of the missing pictures back but pages, plugins, forums and all of April’s blog posts are still missing. Anyway, I’m back in action thanks to everybody’s encouragement.
Try looking Google Reader or BlogLines for past posts. It worked for me. Even Google Cache can have past posts…

That is truly a nightmare! I’m so sorry that you had to deal with such a mess. I’m new to your site, and was wondering what had happened.
I’ve had trouble with my host as well, dreamhost, but luckily did not lose anything. People just couldn’t access my site periodically. Great, huh?!?! They did seem to resolve it, though.
Hopefully, your troubles are behind you as well.

But it looks like you have some experienced help here. Don’t give up, Elina. And the people who did the testimonials would be very happy to re-write something, I’m sure. BDMM will be rebuilt, better than ever!

lastly, dont give up elina. u can get it back slowly. Add oil ya!!!
Have you tried checking with people who have this blog’s Feed? You can retrieve all of them from the Feed. When I lost many of my posts several months ago, I managed to salvage them from Hui Sia’s Feed. Now I have my own Feed URL in my Google Reader as backup of my blog posts.
Wow, that really sucks! I used to have all my posts backed up on my own computer, but then I stopped. Maybe I should start doing that again…
I know a web hoster that has daily backups performed on all their servers and can restore upon request. Ideally, you should also perform your own backup every alternate day if there’s lots of posting or changes. Cpanel also offers an automated backup of your web hosting and can be emailed to you after the full backup is done,.
